EU Not Keen on Revisiting Irish Border Issue

The European Commission has ruled out any possibility of revisiting last year's withdrawal treaty negotiated with Britain.

It's proving too difficult for the UK to leave the EU

News reports in London suggest that PM May has asked her aides to consider alternative arrangements regarding the Irish border issue that is holding back Brexit. However, the European Commission has ruled out any possibility of revisiting last year’s withdrawal treaty negotiated with Britain.

Pro-Brexit members of May’s Conservative Party are keen to re-look and remove the ‘backstop’ protocol which could impact customs checks on Northern Ireland’s border with the EU. However, Deputy Chief Spokeswoman Mina Andrews, while addressing a press conference, stated that the negotiated agreement was the best possible solution to this issue.
