Senior German Diplomat Calls for EU-US Trade Negotiations
The trade row between the US and the EU continues with no negotiations between both sides so far. While speaking with Reuters, senior German diplomat Peter Beyer also called for negotiations between the US and EU towards a trade agreement.
The trade dispute continues on with the US refusing to work out a trade deal until the issue of agriculture is included in the discussions, something the EU has not agreed to do yet.
This issue has led to the breakdown in talks since a year ago, when European Commission chief Jean-Claude Juncker and US President Trump agreed to put off tariffs on cars imported from the EU.
Beyer also remained hopeful that once the 15-year long dispute between US and EU regarding the issue of aircraft subsidies gets resolved, trade negotiations could resume once again and make some progress.
