DeFi Land Acquired $4.1M to Fund its Decentralized Finance Game on Solana

DeFi Land, a multi-chain agriculture-based simulation web game, has hosted its first funding round corresponding to its efforts to bring DeFi to a mainstream audience. This round raised a total of $4.1 million in investments from different industry investors. The event gathered generous support from a dozen investors, including Animoca Brands, Alameda Research, Jump Capital, NGC Ventures, Solana Foundation, and Gate.io, as major participants.

This GameFi project aims to use the raised funds to scale the platform and services of DeFi Land on the Solana blockchain network. It will create learning and intuitive solutions for potential investors exploring other financial alternatives by gamifying significant aspects of the usual DeFi protocols.

DeFi Land has also confirmed that it will support native non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and welcomes a play-to-earn strategy with tasks, battles, achievements, goals and other options, in which gamers can create income. Every NFT in this project will represent unique game objects like trees, buildings, tractors, and other farm-related objects. This added utility will bring new life to the existing NFTs.

A good example is the SolanaMonkeyBusiness NFT, which produces monkeys in the gaming ecosystem. Players can interact with the monkeys, and this adds an extra interface of interactivity and interoperability. Another exciting aspect is how the current weather in this game mirrors the current market movements. Sunny days are good news to the players, but there will be stormy days too.

According to the roadmap, DeFi Land is finalizing its partnership with Serum and Raydium. The beta version and the NFT marketplace are expected to go live in the fourth quarter of 2021. In conclusion, DeFi Land promotes an “educational mode”, to teach retail users about the significant aspects of the gamified environment, making the onboarding of non-crypto users easier and more appealing.
