The v9-Lambda Upgrade was first planned for Q3 2022, but has been postponed for Q1 of 2023. This upgrade will have several components:

Gaia v9.0.x
Token Issuance - Creation of tokens directly on the Hub andERC20 compatibility
Interchain Security v1 - Required Participation of Provider Chain Validators
- Provider Chain Validators using IBC Cross Chain Validation (CCV) can block or slash staking tokens (ATOM) to a Consumer Chain in case of misbehavior.
- Allows independent modules like Gravity DEX or Bridge to live on separate chains with their own development cycles.
Liquid Staking
- Frees secure and low-risk delegations for use in other parts of the Cosmos ecosystem
- Features include enabling the transfer of rewards and voting rights
