MBA mortgage applications report tracks mortgage and refinances for new homes. It is a survey from the Mortgage Bankers Association. There is no forecast for this report. This report is an indicator of the housing sector in the US. It is released on a weekly basis and it shows the difference in the mortgage applications in percentage as compared to the previous week. Mortgage applications show the health of the housing market. Mortgage applications show the direction where the housing and the building sectors are headed.  Besides the effect on the building sector, the housing has a broad effect on the rest of the economy. Rising MBA mortgage applications show an improvement in the household income and in the domestic economy as a whole.
