Chuao Chocolatier is recalling a single production of select Potato Chip mini bar .39oz/11 gram as they may contain undeclared hazelnut, a known allergen, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration noted.

The recall involves Chuao Chocolatier Potato Chip mini chocolate bar with Lot Code 4022, UPC 872629006615, and best by date of 22 FEB 25. The product was sold nationwide, excluding HI and AK, in retail stores and online in the United States.

The recall was initiated after it was found that hazelnuts were inadvertently added to the product during manufacturing and the lot produced was distributed in packaging that does not reveal the presence of hazelnuts.

As per subsequent investigation, the issue was caused by cross contamination on a piece of share equipment.

People who are sensitive or have allergies to hazelnut are likely to get serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the recalled product.

There has been one reported customer that has experienced a mild allergic reaction to the product.

Affected consumers are urged not to eat the impacted product and to discard them.
