Overall, consumer climate in March 2019 seems moderately more stable than in the previous month. Economic expectations are growing again. However, both income expectations and propensity to buy have reduced somewhat.

For April, GfK is forecasting a consumer climate value of 10.4 points, following a revised figure of 10.7 points in March. With the prevailing inflation, the breakdown in economic expectations has been reduced – for the time being at least. EUR/USD is steady, showing no reaction to this news.
