Things have been busy in the UK ever since Theresa May announced her resignation on Friday, and Brexit is at the center of all the hullabaloo. At least four hopefuls have thrown their hats in the ring to take over from May and all their pitches center around Brexit.

No surprises there, given that a vast majority of Conservatives are pro-Brexit. However, what’s worrying is that most of the candidates are more focused on keeping the October 31 deadline, with or without a deal.

Boris Johnson, Dominic Raab, Esther McVey and Andrea Leadsom have all made comments along these lines. Of course, each of them will also have to convince the Opposition to agree with their terms for Brexit before departure, but that’s a whole other fight in itself.

While PM May’s potential successors campaign to get a better Withdrawal Agreement Bill, the EU has already stated that the time for negotiations has ended and that it is not keen on renegotiating any changes to the Brexit deal.
