Forex Signals Brief for Apr 6: Markets Pushed Higher

US Wrap

US equity markets continued where they left off after a three-day long weekend, pushing into the green for another session.

The main catalyst for the gains was last Friday’s non-farm payroll data that showed more than 900K jobs had been created last month, eclipsing the 500K predicted. After the Easter break, Monday was the first chance for US traders to really respond to the data, outside of futures markets.

At the same time, the Greenback fell away yesterday but that did help the precious metals that appear to be turning the corner.

The Data Agenda

The calendar is looking threadbare today, with only JOLT job openings of interest to traders and that is not really a big market mover. Particularly, given that we just had NFP, which will be hard to top.

Forex Signal Update

The FX Leaders Team hit 3 winners from 4 trades, as the Greenback finally gave back some ground.

We have six open signals so look to the forex signals page for all the latest.

AUD/USD – Watching

The AUD/USD is holding above 0.7600 level, but this trade will be one to watch on the back of the RBA which is coming up shortly.

Gold – Active Signal

GOLD is creeping higher by the session, but still remain below key resistance for the time being.

Cryptocurrency Update

As mentioned earlier, all the attention today is on XRP which has surged 40% over the past 24 hours. We’ve seen price creeping up from around $0.55 to as high as $0.95.

At this stage, traders are watching the progress of the SEC lawsuit and a possible relisting on Coinbase.

BTC is also holding steady at the moment and price is above $58,000.

While ETH is testing its most recent highs and looks like it wants to make another leg higher.
