The Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, will sign agreements with the President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and with the President of Chile, Gabriel Boric, during his visit to both countries this week to increase bilateral strategic alliances and strengthen cooperation of all kinds.
Sánchez will begin his first trip to Latin America of the legislature on Tuesday, with the first leg in Brazil, where he will visit Brasilia and Sao Paulo, and will conclude in Santiago, Chile.
He will have meetings with Lula and Boric and engage in a series of activities with a strong economic and commercial focus given the importance of such relationships with both countries, particularly with Brazil.
Due to this economic relevance, Sánchez will be accompanied by the Minister of Economy, Carlos Cuerpo, and from Madrid, a group of Spanish businessmen with a presence in the countries of the tour will travel with him.
The trip’s agenda, as reported by government sources, will begin on Wednesday, March 6 (after Sánchez arrives in Brasilia the previous night) with a meeting with Spanish businessmen to understand their situation and needs.
Later, he will move to the Planalto Palace to meet with Lula, with whom he will subsequently preside over the signing of agreements, including a declaration to expand the existing strategic partnership between the two countries, creating a permanent coordination mechanism that will strengthen collaboration in numerous areas.
His official activities in the Chilean capital will be concentrated on Friday, March 8, when he will participate in a business meeting before being received by Boric at the La Moneda Palace.
Several agreements will be signed during this visit, and one of them will update and expand the strategic alliance signed by the two countries in 2013, incorporating new priorities such as environmental sustainability.
