The United States will grant Argentina a $40 million subsidy for military financing.
"the Embassy and the U.S. government are working closely with our Argentine partners to further strengthen Argentina's security and defense"

This subsidy will support Argentina’s military modernization efforts, contributing to the country’s purchase of supersonic F-16 fighter jets.
The United States announced that it will grant Argentina $40 million in Foreign Military Financing (FMF) to support defense modernization. This funding for the country has not occurred since 2003.
“The FMF is a security assistance grant reserved for key partners. It enables Argentina to purchase defense articles, training, and services from the United States through grant assistance funds and enhances interoperability with U.S. forces,” details the statement released by the U.S. Embassy in Argentina.
Additionally, the statement refers to the acquisition of F-16 aircraft, highlighting that this purchase from Denmark “aligns Argentina with a group of 26 nations and allies operating the platform, enhancing interoperability.”
Furthermore, they explain that “the F-16s will enable Argentina to more effectively defend its territory and cooperate with regional partners to maintain peace and stability in the Americas.”
They also emphasize that “the United States has a long and trusted relationship with Argentina in military acquisitions, training, and professional education” and that “since 1998, Argentina has been a Major Non-NATO Ally.”
In conclusion, they assured that “the Embassy and the U.S. government are working closely with our Argentine partners to further strengthen Argentina’s security and defense partnership under the F-16 program.”
