VanEck Predicts Bitcoin to Hit $180K by 2025, Citing Unmatched Momentum
VanEck forecasts a $180,000 Bitcoin target by 2025, driven by strong investor interest and absence of technical resistance. Institutional in

VanEck, a big name in the investment management space, is calling for Bitcoin to hit $180,000 by 2025.
This is according to Matthew Sigel, Head of Digital Assets Research at VanEck, who says it’s “blue sky territory” with no resistance. He shared this on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” and said Bitcoin’s recent gains could be a series of all-time highs in the next quarters.
Bitcoin has risen 30% since the US elections on November 5, to a recent high of around $93,490 on November 13. Sigel attributes this to pro-crypto sentiment with Trump back in the presidency and growing institutional interest. Bitcoin pulled back a bit but held at around $88,100 on November 15.
Rising Interest Signals Long-Term Bullish Sentiment
VanEck’s view is backed up by growing public interest and institutional involvement. While search interest for “Bitcoin” is still below the 2021 highs, Google searches have tripled since early November. And Coinbase is now #1 on Apple and Google Play’s finance app lists, so retail interest is definitely growing.
Sigel said VanEck’s internal indicators are still bullish. “Our target is $180,000” he said, and the metrics are still pointing up. In addition to Google search data, investment advisors are calling in for Bitcoin exposure and that means more money is flowing into Bitcoin products.
VanEck’s forecast is similar to what happened after the 2020 election when Bitcoin doubled in value from Election Day to year end. Sigel thinks this cycle could be another big one if institutional interest continues to grow.
Additional Projections: Bitget’s $150K Target by Ryan Lee
Ryan Lee, Chief Analyst at Bitget Research, agrees with VanEck and is calling for a Bitcoin range of $82,000 to $110,000 in the short term and $150,000 in 6 months. He attributes the recent rally, including the move above $93,000, to institutional money flowing in through Bitcoin ETFs.

Lee also mentioned the potential of Bitcoin becoming a US reserve asset, as Trump mentioned at the Nashville Bitcoin Conference. If that happens, he thinks other countries will follow and that will be hundreds of billions of dollars of net inflows and Bitcoin will go even higher.
And regulatory events next year could also help Bitcoin. Lee says to watch the funding rate in Bitcoin contracts; if it’s above 50% annualized, that could be a warning sign of a correction. He also said if $94,000 is broken, there will be $1 billion in short squeezes and that could add to the momentum.
Key Takeaways:
-
VanEck’s Projection: Bitcoin target set at $180,000 by 2025, citing strong metrics.
-
Public and Institutional Interest: Search trends and advisor calls indicate growing demand.
-
Additional Insights: Bitget forecasts short-term range of $82,000-$110,000, with potential $150,000 peak in six months.
In summary, Bitcoin’s growth outlook remains robust, driven by institutional inflows and a positive regulatory environment, setting the stage for new highs.
