Sarkozy Is Finally Going to Prison

Well, not exactly. The former French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, is going to court on the 7th, facing charges on fraudulent election finances.

Tell you the truth, I have never liked this guy. There´s not really a reason; just instinctively.

The investigation was opened about a year ago. The alleged charges are about hiding the costs of the 2012 presidential campaign. Apparently, Sarkozy teamed up with a PR company to hide the costs which exceeded the official limit for the campaign.

This is sort of interesting for forex traders because the connection with the Euro is evident. The next French elections are coming and one of the main pro-EU candidates, Fillon, is facing the same accusations.

If he goes down, then Le Penn will likely win the elections and that will be it for the EU. So, we´ll keep an eye on this to see how things evolve.
