Annual House Price in the UK Posts Better Than Expected Growth
According to data released by Halifax, UK’s annual house price posted a better than expected growth during April. House prices in the three months to April grew by 5% when compared to the same period last year.
This has been the highest rate of growth since 2017 and has come in better than the previous month’s 2.6%. The figure beats expectations which were for a 4.5% annual increase.
Even as house prices around the UK continue to climb higher, they are declining in London. Unaffordable prices for buyers, changes in tax format and Brexit uncertainty have contributed to the fall in London house prices.
