Iran Rules Out Taking the First Step Towards Negotiations With the US

Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani has ruled out the possibility of holding talks with the US even as tensions continue to boil over in the Middle East. Trump, however, believes that Iran will take the first step towards initiating negotiations with the US whenever they are ready.

Ever since US ended sanction waivers effectively banning Iran from exporting crude oil, geopolitical tensions have been building up in the Middle East over attacks in Saudi Arabia and off the coast of UAE.

Iran has also strengthened its stance against the US, with Rouhani stating that his nation will not “bow its head in face of bullies”. The Us government too is facing criticism from opposition Democrats over escalating tensions with Iran.
