ZEN 5.0.4 Upgrade
EVENT ENDED
On September 12th, earlier versions, ZEN 5.0.2 and ZEN 5.0.3, will be deprecated on the Mainnet at block #1627572. Notably, ZEN 5.0.4 will not initiate network upgrades on Mainnet through a Hard Fork. Instead, ZEN 5.0.4 is the designated release for both Mainnet and Testnet. Horizen has made this new version available for download via GitHub and Docker, and node operators are advised to update to this version before September 12th.
While software updates are essential for maintaining the network, a minor update like ZEN 5.0.4 is more likely to focus on performance enhancements and bug fixes rather than introducing groundbreaking features. As such, this update is not expected to cause a major shift in ZEN's price.

About Horizen to Release ZEN v.5.0.4
Horizen's native cryptocurrency, ZEN, is a mineable Proof-of-Work (PoW) coin that is traded on major exchanges like Coinbase and Binance. ZEN can also be staked to participate in Horizen's extensive network of nearly 50,000 full nodes, which supports its zero-knowledge blockchain infrastructure. The Zendoo protocol allows for blockchain interoperability through SNARK-verification, offering complete flexibility in terms of sidechain type, consensus mechanism, and speed. This enables the Horizen network to scale significantly, currently supporting up to 10,000 sidechains with a throughput capacity of 10,000,000 transactions per second (TPS).
