On Monday, the US stock market rallied, ignoring the negative headlines that had weighed on the market over the past few weeks in hopes of a stimulus deal outside of Washington. The stock closed sharply after spending the entire session in green. The Dow closed 1.5%, or 410 points, higher. The index had risen more than 500 points to its highest point. The broader S&P 500 (SPX) climbed 1.6%. This benefit occurs after four consecutive weeks of loss.
