retail slowed down considerably in June and in July they turned negative, declining by 2.0%. They turned positive again in August and in September posted a big surprise jump of 9.2%, on an annualized basis. But, they are expected to turn negative again for October and post a 3.8% decline for that month. They remained negative apart from February, while in April they dived by 13.9%. In May we should see an improvement though. CPI remained negative until September, then turned positive in October and November, but declined by -0.3% for December and by 2.4% in January.
