Asian stocks on Wednesday weighed on European and US equity futures, prompting investors to weigh encouraging signs on policy stimulus against a worrying rise in coronavirus cases.
The dollar’s previous gain was sharply outweighed, while the Treasury yields saw a modest increase. Shares fell in Japan, along with benchmark indexes in South Korea, Hong Kong, and China. Tensions with North Korea are rising. Crude oil has lost some recent gains. The S&P 500 futures remained stable after the index rose on Tuesday, following a rebound in US retail sales data for May.
