In today’s trading session, Asian stock markets experienced mixed outcomes amid steady trading, following minimal movement in US stock indexes ahead of the release of inflation data.

Japan’s Nikkei 225 saw a 0.3% increase, reaching 38,287.41. Japanese stocks exhibited an upward trend, with the Mining, non-metal minerals, and Banking sectors driving the increase in share prices. 

During the session, the top performers on the Nikkei 225 included Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd. which gained 18.64%, Obayashi Corp. which gained 1.39%, and Eneos Holdings Inc. gaining 10.76%. Among the lowest performers was Kajima Corp., which dropped by 8.89%, Tosoh Corp. declining by 8.61%, and Daiwa Securities Group which decreased by 6.82%.

Meanwhile, South Korea’s Kospi gained 0.02% closing at 2,727.72 in early trading. Samsung Electronics experienced a decrease of 0.26%, while SK Hynix saw a decline of 0.33%. Financial shares also faced losses, with KB Financial Group plummeting by 3.68% and Hana Financial Group retreating by 1.73%.

On the other hand, batter and auto shares witnessed gains. LG Energy Solutions rose by 0.66%, Samsung SDI increased by 0.12%, and Posco Future M climbed by 1.45%. Hyundai Motor also went up by 0.41%, while Kia experienced a 0.35% increase. Lastly, Naver also rose by 1.25%, and Kakao increased by 0.53%. Korean Won remained stable. 

Elsewhere in Asia, the Sensex climbed by 0.15% closing at 72,776.13, while the Nifty 50 ended the session with a gain of 0.22% closing at 22,104.05. According to the charts, the Nifty 50 displayed a ‘Bullish Hammer’ candlestick pattern, indicating a potential short-term reversal towards a bullish trend. This shows that traders seek out individual stock buying opportunities while exercising caution and avoiding overly aggressive positions.
