According to ZDNet Korea, Samsung announced that the pre-order sales for its brand new Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 phones has declined in Korea compared to last year.
The foldable phones, launched at the Galaxy Unpacked 2024, garnered attention due to their upgraded features, design changes, improved portability, and inclusion of Galaxy AI, which made the devices more expensive than their predecessors.
The report noted that Samsung was able to pre-sell 910,000 units so far, whereas the Z Flip 5 and Fold 5 pre-sales broke records by selling over 1.02 million units in 2023.
However, the smartphone maker revealed that the percentage of pre-order customers in their 20s and 30s has increased to 50 percent, from last year’s 43 percent.
Also, the pre-order ratio of Fold 6 and Flip 6 is 4:6, compared to 3:7 last year, highlighting the increasing popularity of foldable phones in the country.
The South Korean company has extended the pre-order from July 12 to July 18 as it expects the sales to trend upwards once the foldable devices are officially launched.
