Even as trade tensions remain high between the US and China once again, earlier today, the Chinese Commerce Ministry has proposed the removal of import tariff quotas on soybean oil, rapeseed oil and palm oil.
The draft tariff quota management bill posted on the Commerce Ministry website does not mention these products, which indicates that they will not have the same level of restrictions that exist on other agricultural imports into China.
On Tuesday, the ministry had announced its decision to stop importing agricultural products from the US in response to Trump’s most recent tariff announcement that happened last week.
