XRP Price Prediction: $2.35 Slide—Will Bulls Rebound to $3?
XRP drops to $2.35 after SEC silence, faces key legal and technical hurdles. Can it bounce back to $3 with a breakout?

Quick overview
XRP has had a rough time lately. After hitting $2.65 it dropped to $2.35 as traders reacted to the SEC not saying anything after the May 22 closed door meeting.
Investors were expecting some clarity after Judge Torres rejected the SEC’s request to lift restrictions on XRP sales to institutional players and reduce the $125 million penalty. But the SEC remained silent and XRP took the hit.
Legal Uncertainty Weighs on XRP Sentiment
Judge Torres denied the SEC’s motion citing procedural errors and raised questions about investor protection. This puts the SEC in a tough spot, maybe they will have to admit XRP is a commodity not a security.
John E. Deaton, a lawyer in the case, summed it up: “The SEC would have to admit their legal stance was wrong and acknowledge XRP as a commodity, not a security.”
Without direction XRP dropped 5.57% on May 23, underperforming the broader crypto market which dropped 4.09%. The total market cap is now $3.33 trillion. XRP’s immediate support is at $2.28.
A bounce above the May 12 high of $2.66 could lead to a run to $3.00 and the all time high of $3.55 is still a long shot.
Key legal drivers:
- SEC’s decision to appeal which could impact ETF approval.
- Ongoing legal battles to determine XRP as a commodity or security.
- Market reaction to regulatory news.

XRP Technical Picture: Watching for Breakout Signs
On the technical side XRP/USD is forming a descending triangle indicating market indecision. The 50-period EMA ($2.375) and 200-period EMA ($2.364) have crossed bearishly, short term down pressure. But XRP is testing those EMAs again and the MACD histogram is flattening, momentum might be shifting.
Key levels to watch:
- Upside breakout above $2.4019 could lead to $2.4793 or $2.5454.
- Support zone at $2.2281 and $2.1695 keeps the downside risk in check.
- Doji at $2.2863 could be a bounce.
For newbies, the plan is simple: wait for XRP to break above the trendline and above the EMAs and then get in. Put stops at $2.2281.
