Wall Street may be reporting a strong earnings season of late, but equities in Asia fell today over concerns that China may slow down its fiscal and monetary stimulus measures as its economy shows signs of improvement.
China’s central bank PBOC could pause any moves to ease lenders’ reserve needs to perform an assessment of current economic conditions. This move was prompted by better than expected Caixin Services PMI and quarterly GDP figures releasing a few days ago.
At the end of today’s trading session, Japan’s NIKKEI225 was down 0.3%.
