The food and beverage behemoth posted a profit before tax of N51.2 billion in the first quarter, in contrast to the pre-tax loss of N196.1 billion reported in the first quarter of the previous year

The company’s sales grew by 61% from N183.4 billion in the first quarter of 2024 to N294.9 billion in the first quarter of 2025. The cost of sales increased from N134.4 billion to N175.1 billion, but the gross profit of N119.7 billion more than doubled the N49.0 billion earned in the first quarter of 2024.

Additionally, operating profit increased by 254% to N74.1 billion from N20.9 billion in the first quarter of 2024, indicating better sales performance and increased operational efficiency. The company’s net financing costs decreased significantly from N217.0 billion the year before, despite a sizable finance cost of N23.5 billion.

Additionally, Nestlé Nigeria recorded a N30.0 billion increase in shareholders’ equity during the quarter, indicating increased investor value and enhanced financial resilience.

Nestlé Nigeria’s operating profit climbed dramatically from N20.9 billion in January to March 2024 to N74.1 billion in the same period of 2025, along with a notable improvement in operating margins.
