Zelienople, Pennsylvania-based Con Yeager Spice Co. is recalling its Trail Bologna Meat Processing Kits citing the possible presence of undeclared soy and wheat, known allergens, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The impacted product comes in 17.88 Ounce pouches, with UPC code 797442404137, lot # B241851006 and with a Best by Date of 2-08-27.

The recalled Trail Bologna Meat Processing Kits were distributed across the United States through wholesale distribution, retail stores, and mail order.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered by a customer that their box of Hickory Jerky Kits contained Trail Bologna Meat Processing Kits. Hickory Jerky kit contents were inadvertently packaged inside of Trail Bologna Meat Processing kit pouches.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy and wheat may get serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the recalled product. However, the company has not received any reports of illnesses related to the impacted meat processing kits so far.

Con Yeager Spice has suspended the production of the product, while an ongoing investigation determines the cause and corrects the problem.

Consumers who have purchased the impacted Trail Bologna Kit pouches are urged to contact Con Yeager Spice for return and replacement. Distributors who have purchased boxes of Hickory Jerky are asked to inspect the contents of their cases for Trail Bologna kits and contact the firm for return and replacement.

In similar recalls, Miami, Florida-based Tipical Latin Food Corp. earlier in October called back Cachapa de Maiz sweet corn pancakes labeled under Los Andes Foods due to undeclared wheat. Grace Imports in September recalled Kara Boondhi, Kerala Mixture, and Spicy Murukku snack products for the same concern.

Further, Houston, Texas -based Pork Dynasty Inc. in September recalled around 469 pounds of ready-to-eat or RTE fried pork skin products for undeclared soy. Dearborn, Michigan-based Dearborn Sausage Co. also called back around 1,944 pounds of RTE wiener products for the same concern.
