Investors were encouraged by signs that political uncertainty could be affected, following reports of President Trump’s health improving on Monday. The S&P 500 rose 1.8 percent as the broad market gauge gained from last week. The Nasdaq Composition Index rose 2.3 percent, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 465.83 points, or 1.7 percent, to 28,148.64.
