Retail Sales To Increase Again in August
Updated Saturday, September 10, 2022
EVENT ENDED
slRetail sales posted some major declines during February and March in China, at the height of the coronavirus and they kept declining until July, although the decline was owing considerably. In August they finally turned positive and have kept increasing since then. In fact, the pace of the increase has increased as well, putting sales to the pre-coronavirus levels. In February and March we saw some extraordinary numbers around 34%, although the Chinese New year has skewed the numbers to the upside. But they remain high nonetheless despite cooling off to 17% in April.. In July the increase slowed to 2.7% but it is expected to pick up again by 3.2%.
