Mark Cuban and Others Call for Harris to Change Crypto Strategy
A number of high profile cryptocurrency supporters came together to call on Democratic party nominee Kamala Harris to improve her stance on cryptocurrency.
The group was made up of billionaire Mark Cuban, congressman Adam Schiff, and Wall Street insider Anthony Scaramucci. They pledged their support for the current Vice President to take over the presidential office, but they called on her to clarify and revamp her policy regarding cryptocurrency.
There has been an incredible push from the crypto community during this election cycle. Many within the industry see Donald Trump as the strongest supporter for crypto of the major candidates, which include Robert F. Kennedy and Harris. The support for crypto has been less vocal from Harris and her running mate Tim Walz.
So, Democratic supporters are urging Harris to take a stronger, more defined stance on crypto. They understand that it is one of the key issues this election, especially since millions in support dollars have come to presidential candidates this election from cryptocurrency companies.
The Call for a Change
Harris has made her campaign about healthcare transparency and real estate regulations so far, but her campaign has barely started. She only recently took over the candidacy from currency President Joe Biden, who said he would be stepping down at the end of his term.
Democrats are calling for Harris to put a stop to Biden’s strong crypto regulations, asking for her to ease up on this issue and allow more freedom for exchange platforms and crypto businesses.
Politicians are continuously talking about how important crypto is to this election, because they know if they do not move on it now and make some changes to current policy, then crypto will end up as an overseas market.
Democrats that support Harris are already drafting their list of picks for candidates who would fill important positions in her cabinet and who are also crypto friendly. Will it be enough for this party to be seen as one that supports open and free crypto policy?
