Quick overview
- XRP surged by 281 percent in November 2024 after Donald Trump's presidential election win, reaching a January all-time high of $3.40.
- In July, XRP achieved a new high of $3.65, but subsequent months saw significant declines, including a 12 percent drop in October and a 14.8 percent drop in December.
- The year began with a 10.6 percent decline in January and a 16.2 percent decline in February, marking a challenging start for XRP.
- The six-month losing streak from 2025 to 2026 is considered the worst in XRP's recent history.
XRP surged by an astounding 281 percent in November alone after Donald Trump won the US presidential election, and there was renewed hope of a significant regulatory change in the nation, making for a very exciting and positive end to 2024. The asset continued to rise and reached its January all-time high of $3.40, but it was unable to break it on its first try.

XRP finally achieved the unimaginable in July when it reached $3.65 for the first time, following a six-month break driven by some dubious international policies by the now-acting US President Trump. However, things have mostly gotten worse since then.
October saw a 12 percent monthly decline, which was followed by a 13.8 percent decline in November and a further 14.8 percent decline in December.
According to data from CryptoRank, the year started with a 10.6 percent decline in January and an even more agonizing 16.2 percent decline in February.
But that was only a short time after the token’s launch, and the cryptocurrency market as a whole was completely different (smaller, less legitimate, and more volatile). Therefore, it’s reasonable to say that the six-month losing streak in 2025–2026 was the worst in XRP’s recent history.
