Solana Labs Launches GameShift To Support Building Port Blockchain Games

Solana Labs, the technology firm behind the high-performance and environmentally-friendly Solana blockchain has finally announced the launch GameShift — a web3 game API development that connects software to the Solana network to help developers to create and port blockchain games.

GameShift’s goal is to offer developers trustworthy and inclusive tools that enhance the Web3 in-game experience. These tools contain custody solutions, marketplaces, inventory management, NFT minting, credit card on-ramps, and off-ramps, among others. The API simplifies the asset ownership journey, facilitating seamless navigation of the Web3 landscape for both developers and gamers.

Tal Tchwella, the Head of Product at Solana Labs, emphasized the importance of advanced technology in accelerating game development for Web3 developers, with the API granting access to trusted third-party Web3 components designed for the Solana blockchain.

“Developers see the potential of web3 games but they need help navigating the fragmented landscape of web3 tools and solutions,” Tchwella said. “GameShift will make it easy for developers to focus more on building their games instead of wrestling with the complexities of integrating web3 into their games.” – Tal Tchwella stated.

GameShift was announced at PlayGG, an event celebrating games on the Solana network, where more than 40 Solana-based blockchain games were showcased, demonstrating the immense potential of Web3 games. Although GameShift is scheduled for launch later this year, developers can already join the tech stack and will soon have complete access to it.
