The leading index, S&P/BMV IPC, of the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV), composed of the most traded stocks in the domestic market, is up 0.13% at 55,008.81 units. The FTSE BIVA, of the Institutional Stock Exchange (BIVA), falls 0.13% to 1,136.94 points.

Within the benchmark index, mixed performances are observed. Gains are led by Genomma Lab, which is up 1% at 14.160 pesos, and Megacable, with a 0.99% increase to 47.97. Losses are led by Peñoles, down 1.48% at 210.41 pesos.

Investors maintain the caution they showed at the end of last week, in a market preparing to learn tomorrow’s data on February inflation in the United States, which could provide clues about the future of interest rates in that country.

As events from last week are left behind and attention shifts to tomorrow’s inflation data, we anticipate a more cautious environment for today’s session.

In other regional news, the Secretary of State of the United States, Antony Blinken, will travel to Jamaica on Monday to participate in an emergency meeting on the crisis in Haiti, convened by the Caribbean Community (Caricom), the Department of State reported.

Blinken will discuss efforts to “accelerate a transition in Haiti through the establishment of a collegiate, independent, and broad-based presidency, as well as the deployment of a multinational mission to address the security crisis” in the Caribbean country.
