Micron heads into a crucial week as Microsoft, Amazon and Meta report earnings. Can strong AI memory demand help MU defend $908 and extend its rally? Micron Technology (NASDAQ: MU) heads into the final week of July trading near $920 after a volatile week for semiconductor stocks.

Although shares pulled back sharply on Friday as investors locked in profits across the AI sector, Micron still finished the week higher, underlining confidence in one of the strongest memory cycles the industry has ever experienced. Unlike previous booms driven by PCs or smartphones, this cycle is being fuelled by artificial intelligence, where demand for high-bandwidth memory (HBM), server DRAM and enterprise SSDs continues to outpace supply.

Looking ahead, investors will focus on Microsoft, Amazon, Meta and AMD earnings, together with the Federal Reserve meeting, to assess whether hyperscale AI spending remains strong enough to support Micron’s record earnings trajectory.

Record Q3 Results Highlight AI Memory Boom

Micron delivered another exceptional quarter, driven by AI infrastructure demand.

For the fiscal third quarter ended May 29, the company reported:

  • Revenue: $41.46 billion

  • GAAP gross margin: 84.6%

  • GAAP operating margin: 80.4%

  • GAAP net income: $28.24 billion

  • GAAP EPS: $24.67

  • Non-GAAP EPS: $25.11

Cash generation remained equally impressive.

Operating cash flow reached $25.39 billion, while adjusted free cash flow totalled $18.3 billion after $7.1 billion of capital expenditure. Micron also ended the quarter with $30.2 billion in cash, marketable investments and restricted cash, providing ample flexibility to continue expanding manufacturing capacity.

Growth Extended Across Every Business Segment

The AI boom is no longer limited to one product line.

Micron reported:

  • Cloud Memory revenue: $13.77 billion

  • Core Data Centre revenue: $11.52 billion

  • Mobile & Client revenue: $11.52 billion

  • Automotive & Embedded revenue: $4.63 billion

The Data Centre segment remains the largest growth engine as hyperscalers continue expanding AI infrastructure, but improving demand across automotive, industrial and mobile markets shows that the recovery has broadened beyond AI alone.

Long-Term Customer Contracts Reduce Cyclical Risk

One of Micron’s biggest structural changes has been the introduction of Strategic Customer Agreements (SCAs).

The company has now signed 16 long-term agreements, covering approximately:

  • 20% of DRAM production

  • One-third of NAND production

Fourteen agreements include around $100 billion of minimum contracted revenue extending through 2030, backed by roughly $22 billion of customer financial commitments, including $18 billion in cash deposits.

Unlike previous memory cycles, these contracts include volume commitments, take-or-pay clauses and pricing protections, making earnings considerably more predictable.

HBM4 Supply Remains Fully Allocated

Demand for AI memory continues exceeding supply. Micron has already generated more than $1 billion in HBM4 revenue and confirmed that its entire 2026 HBM production has been allocated to customers.

The company is simultaneously ramping its latest 1-gamma DRAM and G9 NAND technologies, positioning itself to benefit from continued expansion in AI servers, cloud computing and enterprise storage.

Management continues indicating that supply constraints, rather than customer demand, remain the biggest limitation on near-term growth.

Q4 Guidance Points to Another Record Quarter

Management expects momentum to continue.

Micron guided for:

  • Revenue: $50 billion ± $1 billion

  • Gross margin: approximately 86%

  • GAAP EPS: $30.73 ± $1

  • Non-GAAP EPS: $31 ± $1

At the midpoint, revenue would increase another 21% sequentially, highlighting the continued strength of AI-related demand.

Next Week: Big Tech Earnings Become the Biggest Catalyst

The coming week could be pivotal.

Investors will closely analyse earnings from:

  • Microsoft

  • Amazon

  • Meta Platforms

  • AMD

The biggest questions include:

  • Are hyperscalers maintaining aggressive AI capital expenditure?

  • Does HBM demand remain supply constrained?

  • Are enterprise customers continuing to expand AI infrastructure?

Strong guidance from cloud providers would reinforce Micron’s outlook for HBM, server DRAM and enterprise SSD demand through the second half of 2026.

Micron (MU) Technical Analysis: Can Bulls Hold $908?

Technically, Micron begins the week at an important support level. Shares are trading near $920, just above the key $902-$908 support zone, where horizontal support converges with the 200-period EMA.

The stock remains below the 50-period EMA ($949.92) and the descending trendline, indicating sellers still control short-term momentum. The RSI has eased to 44, suggesting bearish momentum is increasing without yet reaching oversold territory.

Holding above $908 could trigger a rebound toward $949, followed by $993 and potentially $1,060. However, a confirmed break below $902 would expose $804, with stronger support around $742.

Week Ahead Outlook

Micron enters the final week of July with one of the strongest fundamental stories in the semiconductor sector. Record revenue, 84.6% gross margins, $18.3 billion of quarterly free cash flow, fully allocated HBM production and more than $100 billion in long-term customer commitments continue supporting the long-term investment case.

The biggest catalysts now lie outside the company. Earnings from Microsoft’s, Amazon’s and Meta’s cloud businesses will provide critical insight into AI infrastructure spending, while the Federal Reserve’s policy decision could influence broader sentiment toward growth stocks.

If hyperscalers continue signalling aggressive AI investment and macro conditions remain supportive, Micron appears well positioned to defend $908 and resume its longer-term uptrend.
