Wall Street and LATAM Open Flat, Awaiting Nvidia Results and Fed Minutes

Wall Street and Latin American markets opened flat as investors await the upcoming earnings report from Nvidia and the release of the Federal Reserve’s meeting minutes. The cautious sentiment reflects the anticipation of key data that could influence market direction and investor decisions in the coming days.

Wall Street and the LATAM Stock Exchanges opened with slight variations on Wednesday, following declines in European and Asian markets, as investors await Nvidia’s earnings results and the Fed minutes for clues on whether the U.S. might start cutting interest rates.

In New York, the main indices were virtually flat, similar to the Santiago and Argentine stock exchanges. The IPSA was up 0.08%, at 6,715.86 points, and the MERVAL remained unchanged as trading resumed after two days of low volume of news.

Investors were looking forward to the earnings results from Nvidia, the U.S. artificial intelligence giant, after the market closed. Nvidia’s results are expected to be a crucial test for the U.S. stock market rally, which has pushed indices to record highs this year, reflecting the company’s growing influence in broader markets.

Additionally, markets are focused on the Fed minutes, which could provide more details on the shift in policy. These minutes are expected to confirm that the next rate move is likely to be downward, but policymakers need more confidence that inflation has resumed its downward trend.

In Europe, the EuroStoxx fell 0.31%, while in Asia, the Nikkei ended the session down 0.85%, and the Hang Seng declined 0.13%.
