The former US President, Donald Trump, will start the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville, Tennessee, on July 25–27.

This is one of the largest Bitcoin meetings in the world, and Trump is just one of the well-known figures in the business that will be there. Trump is running against Democratic incumbent Joe Biden for the U.S. presidency in the 2017 election.

Trump’s attendance at the conference demonstrates his strong support to the bitcoin industry. He emphasized financial independence and the expansion of Bitcoin globally when he announced his support for the American Bitcoin sector in May 2024. Trump promotes Bitcoin mining in the US with his remarks on his Truth Social platform, stating, “We want all the remaining Bitcoin to be MADE IN THE USA.”
Trump’s embrace of Bitcoin stands in stark contrast to his predecessor’s mistrust of the technology. This change in stance was made clear in June at a $12 million event in San Francisco, where prominent figures in the cryptocurrency space, including the Winklevoss twins and Coinbase officials, attended. During this gathering, Trump positioned himself as an advocate for cryptocurrencies by criticizing Democratic attempts to regulate the industry.
Other prominent American politicians, including former presidential contender Vivek Ramaswamy, presidential contender Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Republican senators Bill Hagerty and Marsha Blackburn, will be present at Bitcoin 2024 alongside President Trump. Kennedy Jr., a vocal supporter of cryptocurrencies, has promised to defend the freedom to possess and utilize Bitcoin, underscoring the political backing for the virtual currency.
The Biden administration, in contrast, has adopted a more circumspect stance toward cryptocurrency. In order to create a legislative framework for digital assets, the White House has stated that it is eager to collaborate with Congress.
This strategy, nevertheless, has come under fire for being unclear and ineffectively addressing the issues raised by the cryptocurrency business. A U.S. tech business group called Chamber of Progress recently encouraged President Biden to back comprehensive crypto regulation, pointing out that Trump has been successful in taking advantage of the regulatory uncertainty of the current government.
This week's GOP platform takes a swipe at Democrats on crypto. But Biden still has an opportunity to win over the 18 million Americans who are holding or trading in digital assets.

Anticipatedly, Trump’s address at the Bitcoin 2024 conference will bolster his self-proclaimed position as a proponent of cryptocurrencies. His speech, which is set for the conference’s last day, is probably going to focus on his pro-Bitcoin positions, which are now a major component of the Republican Party platform. With both main U.S. political parties debating the future of digital asset regulation, this trend suggests an increasing alignment of political interests with the changing bitcoin landscape.
