In a series of posts, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent emphasized that “all stabilization options are on the table” and that the Treasury “is prepared to do whatever is necessary within its mandate to support Argentina.” These measures could include, among others, swap lines, direct foreign exchange purchases, and public debt buybacks, as previously reported by Ámbito.

“Argentina is a systemically important U.S. ally in Latin America, and the Treasury stands ready to do whatever is necessary within its mandate to support Argentina,” Bessent wrote on X, stressing once again that “all stabilization options are on the table.”

He also noted that such options could include, among others, swap lines, direct currency purchases, and purchases of U.S. dollar-denominated public debt through the Treasury’s Exchange Stabilization Fund. “Opportunities for private investment remain broad, and Argentina will be great again,” he assured.

Bessent further added: “We continue to believe that President Javier Milei’s commitment to fiscal discipline and pro-growth reforms are essential to breaking Argentina’s long history of decline. My remarks from April made clear our commitment to the Argentine people and to President Milei.”

Argentina’s Economy Minister, Luis Caputo, echoed these statements on the same platform, posting: “Thank you, Secretary Scott Bessent, for your invaluable support and commitment to helping us make Argentina great again!”

President Javier Milei also expressed gratitude for U.S. support:

“My deepest thanks to Scott Bessent and President Donald Trump for their unconditional support of the Argentine people, who two years ago chose to turn around a century of decline through great effort. Those of us who defend the ideas of liberty must work together for the well-being of our nations,” he wrote on X.

He concluded by reaffirming: “See you Tuesday in New York.” President Milei will travel to the United States this week, where on Tuesday he is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with Republican President Donald Trump.
