Ethereum Sits at $1,900 With the 100-Day EMA Just Overhead

Ethereum has been remarkably quiet for a market that has had a lot thrown at it this week. The token is sitting just above $1,900 Thursday morning, which keeps it above the 50-day EMA near $1,848 and the SuperTrend line at $1,741. Both are holding for now, but the 100-day EMA at roughly $1,932 is sitting right on top of price and has not budged.

That level matters. Every time ETH has pushed toward it this week, the move has stalled. The 200-day EMA is further up at $2,166 and feels a long way away given current conditions.

The RSI is near 57 on the daily chart, which is one of the better readings ETH has had in months. Mild bullish momentum is there, but the MACD has just slipped into negative territory with a soft bearish cross, which is the kind of mixed signal that tends to keep traders cautious rather than committed.

Wednesday’s Fed decision gave the market a brief lift. Rates held at 3.50% to 3.75%, which was what everyone expected, and ETH ticked up slightly on the news. But Fed chair Kevin Warsh used the press conference to underline his commitment to getting inflation back to 2%, with three dissenting members pushing for an immediate hike. That hawkish tilt kept any gains contained.

Overnight US strikes on southern Iran added another layer of caution. Oil is above $82, the Fear and Greed Index is sitting at 28, and sentiment across crypto is fragile heading into the weekend.

For ETH, the setup is simple. A clean close above the 100-day EMA at $1,932 opens the door toward $2,166. Losing the 50-day EMA at $1,848 sends it back toward $1,741 where buyers stepped in the last time things got difficult. Right now it is sitting right in between, waiting for something to tip the balance.
