Ducati, one of the world’s famous motorcycle brand has announced its plans to launch its inaugural NFT collection in Ripple’s XRP Ledger.

The Italian-based firm will feature Ducati’s animated series of its logo, as showcased on the fuel tanks of the motorcycles crafted since the company’s inception in 1946 to this day. This partnership is the first enterprise in the Web3 area and blockchain enterprise.

Interested parties have a one-week period following the launch to register. Early adopters who acquire the initial NFTs will secure privileged access to future projects. Ducati also confirmed that its future initiatives will leverage the XRPL platform.

XRP Ledger (XRPL) was created in 2012 specifically to facilitate payments in XRP. The blockchain platform can settle transactions involving the XRP token within three to five seconds. Last year, the developers proposed the XLS-20 standard to be able to facilitate NFTs on the XRPL and drive XRP adoption in the Web3 ecosystem. In this case, Ducati’s NFT collection launch will be made possible through the XLS-20 standard on the XRPL blockchain.

Although some may say that XRP Ledger is not the most popular choice amongst enthusiasts regarding NFT tokens, the blockchain has been experiencing a significant increase in its activity recently with more than 1 million NFT tokens minted in the first quarter of 2023.

With Ducati’s NFT collection set to launch, XRPL will likely enjoy increased adoption and on-chain activity in the coming months. Besides, Ripple has been in the spotlight recently following its victory over the US SEC last July 13.
