S&P 500 ends lower for the 2nd day

Today the risk sentiment was off again in financial markets, sending S&P 500 lower, while the USD continued to grind higher. Crude Oil received some bids today which briefly sent US WTI above $72 as comments point to further escalation of the Middle Eastern conflict, however the US private API crude inventories showed a buildup.

S&P 500 Chart Daily – Retreating for the 2nd Day

Yesterday, the Nasdaq closed with gains, while the S&P 500 and Dow Jones ended the session lower. Stock markets have been on an upward trend throughout the fall, but it seemed like a natural pause was due, giving buyers time to reassess after recent highs. Both the Dow and S&P had reached record levels in the previous weeks, so this pullback wasn’t unexpected. A similar pattern unfolded today, with the Nasdaq climbing to its highest close since July, while the Dow and S&P registered their second consecutive day of declines.
