Yuga Labs Announces The New Seven Members Of BAYC Community Council

On Wednesday, Yuga Labs (a Bored Ape parent company) announced that they have set up a new community council to represent the club at large. The council will have seven members consisting of Web3 professionals and Bored Ape early adopters. This is to help the community “grow and thrive” as the council members continue to proactively and positively contribute to the club.

Yuga Labs Web3 marketing agency and fund co-founder Josh Ong is one of the seven members of the council who received a community grant to organize the IRL BAYXC meetups and helped to launch the Apefest 2021 Yacht Party. The other members of the council are Laura Rod, 0xEthan, 0xWave, Negi, Peter Fang, and Sera. Yuga Labs said that these members have been active in engaging with the community, as well as attending meetups and other matters.

The goal of forming the council is to provide a forum for feedback and voice ideas from the community. The council members will work with Yuga Labs and BAYC/MAYC community for creating community-driven initiatives like meetups, commercial projects, and charitable events.

In addition, more council members are likely to join over time to explore the needs of other Yuga NFT communities like Meebits, CryptoPunks, and Otherside.

There’s no official basis as to how the seven council members were selected but the reactions from the community especially Twitter. In fact, there have been recommendations for people to be added to the next batch of the council. Soon enough, Yuga Labs may take into consideration holding a vote amongst the community for the next batch of council members.
