Market Updates: German Producer Prices Jump +2.6%

- The Destatis reported a sharp surge in the German PPI figures. As per the report, the index of producer prices for industrial products rose by 2.6% compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year.
- The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reported that the annual rate of change all over had been 2.7 %. Compared with the preceding month December 2018, the overall index increased by 0.4% in January 2019 (-0.4% in December 2018 and +0.1% in November 2018).
- In January 2019, the price indices of all main industrial groups increased compared with January 2018. Energy prices rose by 7.2% (+0.6% compared with December 2018).
