Gonzales, Louisiana -based Bonneval Foods, LLC is recalling all barbecue pork skin product that is currently available in commerce due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service or FSIS.

The product contains wheat and soy, known allergens, that are not declared on the product label.

The recall involves 1.7-oz. plastic bags containing “BONNEVAL’S BBQ Pork Skins”, with establishment number “EST. 2249”. The item was distributed to retail locations in the state of Louisiana.

All products available in retail or in consumer’s pantries have been called back by the company.

The recall was initiated after the routine FSIS in-plant verification activities identified soy and wheat, known allergens, as ingredients in a Worcestershire powder that is an ingredient in a BBQ pork skin product.

However, there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of the impacted product so far.

FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers pantries, and urged them to throw away them or return to the place of purchase.
