The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced recalls of Prime Foods Processing LLC’s 2 varieties of Egg Custard Steamed Buns as well as Too Good Gourmet’s Meijer Dunking Cookies Chocolate Chip, citing undeclared allergens.
Steam Buns with Egg Custard Added & Steam Buns with Egg Custard and Coconut Added were recalled due to undeclared Sesame, while Meijer Dunking Cookies Chocolate Chip 10oz was called back for undeclared milk.
Brooklyn, New York-based Prime Foods recalled 477 cases of both varieties of Egg Custard Steamed Buns.
Steam Buns with Egg Custard Added comes with Lot Codes #24149, and #24150, as well as expiration on 10/2025 and UPC Code of 797803704050.
Steam Buns with Egg Custard and Coconut is with lot Code #24149, expiration on 10/2025, and UPC Code of 797803704869.
The impacted frozen items are packaged in bright yellow packaging and distributed in 27 states through Asian grocery stores between May 30, 2024 and June 28, 2024.
The recall was initiated after it was discovered that 6 cases of Sesame Steamed Buns may have been packaged in Egg Custard Steam Bun packaging. As per the probe, the problem was caused by a temporary breakdown in the company’s packaging processes, which has been corrected.
Further, San Lorenzo, California-based Too Good Gourmet’s recalled Meijer Dunking Cookies Chocolate Chip were sold in a 10 oz. tall clear container with a blue and white label, with UPC 713733712972. All Best if Used By codes are included in the recall.
The recalled Chocolate Chip were sold at Meijer stores in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, and Wisconsin.
The recall was initiated after it was found that the product contains a milk allergen, but was mistakenly not listed in the ingredient declaration and Contains statement.
People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to Sesame or milk may get serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
However, both companies have not received any complaints of illnesses related to their respective recalled products.
Customers are urged to return the recalled products to the companies for a full refund.
