Quebec, Canada -based Authentik Fudge is recalling 840 units of Chocolate Fudge with Nuts branded MONTREAL FUDGE in the United States, citing potential mold growth contamination, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The recalled 5.6 Oz Fudge with nuts branded MONTREAL FUDGE came with lot 0241500805 with expiration date of 2025/MR/01, lot 0241690105 with expiration date of 2025/MR/17, and lot 0241690205 with expiration date of 2025/MR/17.
They were distributed on 2024-06-19 and 2024-06-20 through MARSHALLS and sold in the retail chains in various states. TJ MAXX sold the products in Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming, while MARSHALLS sold the products in around 38 states.
No other products are impacted by the recall.
The recall was initiated following a consumer complained about some mold pieces inside the purchased box. The company found also some remaining unpacked sealed products at the manufactured place that had beginning signs of mold.
However, no illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the issue so far.
Consumers who have purchased those affected products are urged to destroy them or to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
