Argentine President Milei to Meet with President-Elect Donald Trump Next Week in the U.S.
Javier Milei, the President of Argentina, is scheduled to meet with U.S. President-Elect Donald Trump next week at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, as confirmed by an Argentine government spokesperson.
Milei, a right-wing leader who has expressed strong alignment with the United States and specifically with Trump since taking office in December, is expected to discuss bilateral relations and potential cooperation between the two nations. The meeting comes as part of Milei’s efforts to establish closer ties with the U.S., which he views as a key strategic partner.
In addition to his meeting with Trump, Milei is also set to meet with Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, as part of his diplomatic visit. Between November 14 and 16, Mar-a-Lago will host the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), where Milei has been invited as the only Latin American leader to speak at the event.
Milei’s attendance at CPAC reflects his alignment with conservative political movements and his increasing influence in the region. Trump, who has sought an ally in Latin America amid a more left-leaning ideological shift in the region, sees Milei as a potential geopolitical partner. While Trump has fielded numerous calls from world leaders, he is making an exception for Milei by hosting him at his personal residence, highlighting the importance of the upcoming discussions.
Before the elections, Trump hosted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán at Mar-a-Lago, underscoring the close ties he maintains with key allies in the Middle East and Europe.
