Brexit Uncertainties Dominate Sentiment in European Stock Markets
Early on Friday, Britain’s leading stock market index FTSE is trading lower after touching close to a one-month high over rising Brexit uncertainties and the ongoing political turmoil within the UK. At the time of writing, FTSE is trading around 7323.
Meanwhile, European stock markets are also set to trade cautiously as Brexit remains in the spotlight. On Thursday, UK PM Boris Johnson called for a fresh round of general elections, even before the EU could announce its decision on whether or not to grant Britain yet another extension on Brexit.
Discussions among EU27 members remain ongoing regarding the length of the delay to be granted to Britain to sort out all concerns around Brexit. European stock markets can also be impacted by Q3 corporate earnings report releases from leading companies today.
