After Climbing for Days, the Nasdaq Composite Is Staying Flat

The Nasdaq Composites going nowhere right now.

A modestly decreased report from the Nasdaq Composite brings a mostly positive market into the weekend.

Stocks were up for all three major indexes yesterday, but today finds the Nasdaq Composite holding steady despite an early morning increase of 0.95%. The market has settled around 15,756 following several days of earnings reports for major stocks.

The Dow Jones is up 156 points (0.46%), and the S&P 500 climbed 0.82% for the morning on Thursday. It is a slow morning so far for the market, but things could pick up later on in the day.

Which Stocks Are Up?

The biggest earner on the S&P 500 is Enphase Energy Inc, which climbed almost 17%. Next is Emerson Electric, up 10.91%.

On the Dow Jones, Walt Disney is the only stock making any kind of major moves. It was up 7.54% at the time of writing, with an increase of 7.48 points. No other stock reported an increase in even the single digits. On the plus side, no stocks on the Dow Jones reported a decrease of a full percentage point either, demonstrating a very quiet market.

Disney is up after news of a new sports streaming service was announced, which would include a partnership with Fox and Warner Bros. Disney also shared its earnings report, which had some positive news, including a sizable profit for the previous year.

Over on the Nasdaq Composite, MicroCloud Hologram Inc. is the big news there. This stock rose 56% yesterday and then 1,092% today, putting it far ahead of the competition when it comes to stock growth. A recent reverse stock split could be the reason why this stock is exploding, but analysts cannot quite make sense of why this particular stock is doing so well. They expect it to lose momentum quickly in the coming days.
