S&P 500 Is On a Hot Streak As Stock Market Stays High

US stocks are up right now, ahead of Thursday’s opening bell. The S&P 500 is the most notable index at the moment, with a new high of 5,487.

Stock Markets Showed Mixed Performance Today

That index gained 0.25%, followed by the Dow Jones with an increase of 0.15%, and rounded out by the Nasdaq Composite with its gain of 0.03%.

The market remains bullish off of slightly positive inflation and economic data. We may see new highs for the Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 today as trading begins. The Juneteenth holiday on Wednesday gave the market a chance to rest and investors the opportunity to plan their decisions. We should see more calculated investment movements today and less shooting from the hip.

Nvidia to Be the Big Winner

The most frenzied trading today is likely to happen around Nvidia (NVDA), which is up 3.51% compared to the previous day of trading. At $140.49 per share, the stock is at its highest point all year and still gaining. This resilient stock has proven so far that there is no limit to how high AI can carry a successful company on the stock market, and Nvidia has also shown that its meteoric rise is no fluke.

Later today, we will see earnings reports from Kroger (KR), Winnebago Industries (WGO) and Commercial Metals (CMC), as well as a number of others. Much of the trading will be focused on tech stocks, especially with Nvidia’s market dominance.

Boeing (BA) stock has continued to drop (down 1.91%) as the company’s CEO is being pressed by the US Senate about failures in safety and quality. The company’s stock has suffered immensely as a result of these ongoing investigations, and its stock price has fallen by 31% since the start of the year. We do not expect any kind of quick recovery for the company.
