Palantir Stock Performing Very Well in July after Sovereign AI Plan with Nvidia

Palantir stock gained tremendously during July, offsetting a poor June performance that sunk to the lowest point in 2026.

Palantir stock is moving much higher in July after an expansion of their Nvidia partnership.

Quick overview

  • Palantir's stock dropped to a 2026 low in June but surged 24% from $107 to $133 following an expanded partnership with Nvidia.
  • The companies announced a sovereign AI initiative aimed at enhancing the U.S. military's decision-making capabilities.
  • Palantir's focus on government clients and critical infrastructure positions it to thrive even during economic downturns.
  • Investment firms are increasingly rating PLTR as a Buy, reflecting confidence in its growth potential.

In June, AI giant Palantir (PLTR) saw their stock drop to a 2026 low, but since their expanded Nvidia (NVDA) partnership at the end of the month, their stock has soared.

Nvidia joined forces with Palantir back in October of 2025, but that union really took off in early July of this year when the two companies announced a sovereign artificial intelligence initiative. That program is set to transform the United States military and its assessment and decision making capabilities.

Palantir continues to build partnerships in the tech sector, growing its reach and pushing its stock higher. For the month of July so far, their stock has grown from $107 to $133, a 24% increase.

The Sovereign AI Initiative Could Grow Palantir Exponentially

What Palantir is introducing to its customers, alongside some help from Nvidia, is a new sovereign AI infrastructure that would allow the customer to keep all of their artificial intelligence programs entirely local. That means that instead of relying on a major company from outside to provide servers and storage, the customer could do all of that within their private network. This would limit outside interference, preventing hacks and limiting security problems.

Palantir and Nvidia are focusing their efforts on critical infrastructure and government agencies, which allows them to develop specially catered products for these target customer groups. Nvidia AI and open models running on Nemotron technology could reshape how artificial intelligence is used. These programs come equipped with recipes and training algorithms that ensure clients have many tools at their disposal but that their AI infrastructure is not limited by what is already learned.

Stockholders and investors appear to be very interested in Palantir’s latest moves, driving stock value much higher in a short period of time. PLTR stock may move at a different rate than the wider AI market or chip stocks since they are targeting clients that are most often recession proof. So, even as inflation readings and Middle East conflict are causing fluctuations on the stock market in the AI sector, Palantir is less impacted with its focus on government agencies. In fact, they may be able to profit when other AI companies are bearish since their clients will need more resources during times of conflict.

Because PLTR is well below its early 2026 highs, several investment firms are classifying the stock as a Buy. Rosenblatt calls it a Buy. Wolfe Research upgraded the stock to a higher price target, and DA Davidson recently changed their target to reflect a Buy rating for the stock.
